Fleet of New Truck Models Rolled Out

An impressive 20 truck brands showcased their latest models at last week’s 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, with a significant number marking their Australian debuts.

Kenworth
Among the biggest reveals was a new range of Kenworth models – the T320, T420, T620 and T620SAR – featuring new-generation wide cabs models, Euro 6-compliant engines, the PACCAR Connect telematics platform and 15-inch high-definition instrument panel. Showcased alongside the new models was the crowd favourite, the flagship T909, showcasing a new Euro 6 engine and responding to an increase in customer demand for larger bunks, an updated 60-inch bunk option.

DAF
Introduced in October 2024, DAF showcased the XG range. Exclusively produced in Melbourne, the Australian XG range – including the XG & XG+ – has already quickly established itself as superior for high-productivity combinations. Alongside the current CF450 and CF530 models, DAF also presented its ‘zero emission’, 19-tonne rated DAF XB Electric which is currently in Australia for evaluation and encompasses the best-in-class driver comfort, drivability, efficiency and safety features.

Mercedes-Benz
On the neighbouring stand, Daimler Truck presented the all-new Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin boasting a futuristic, aerodynamic design that has delivered a three per cent fuel efficiency improvement over the truck it replaces in Europe. On sale later in Australia and New Zealand this year, the ProCabin will replace existing the larger cab Actros models in the range, including the 2.5 StreamSpace and GigaSpace models.

Freightliner
Freightliner, meanwhile, provided a glimpse into the future and a nod to its past with a camouflaged version of its next-generation Cascadia prime mover from the United States and a special-edition version of the current Cascadia that celebrates Freightliner’s routes that go all the way back to 1942, including unique blacked-out wheels, bumper, tanks and guards as well as special seat embroidery and exterior design highlights that celebrated the heritage of the iconic American brand.

Fuso
Fuso unveiled the most powerful Japanese truck in Australia with the introduction of an even stronger Shogun at the show. The new Shogun 530 introduces a new cab design and a hefty 530hp engine throwing off 2,600Nm of torque, up from 510hp previously. On sale late this year, the new Shogun range will deliver other benefits with new in-cabin features and the latest generation active safety suite that features no less than five radars.

Scania
Scania Australia returned to the Brisbane Truck Show for the first time since 2019 with a display of three powerful 6×4 prime movers, including the ‘King of the Road’, powered by a 16.4-litre 770hp V8 and featuring the biggest cab seen on a Scania in many years. Alongside the 770 S was the 560 G, powered by a new-generation DOHC six-cylinder SUPER engine delivering 560hp and 2,800Nm of torque; and the 560 G, the low-entry cab now available with the most powerful engine yet offered in the P-series.

Isuzu
Already punching well above its weight in the Australian truck market, Isuzu took the wraps off the all-new FX Series heavy-duty range at last week’s 2025 Brisbane Truck Show. Sporting vastly improved powertrain technology, a first-in-class safety package as well as reborn cabin design and ergonomics, the FX line-up takes an important stride forward in its battle to join its light and medium-duty stablemates as the most popular heavy-duty truck in the country.

Volvo
Everyone needs a hero, and the Volvo FH16 XXL on show at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show did not fail to disappoint. The truck featured Volvo’s recently launched 17-Litre Euro 6 engine platform that provides a class-leading 780hp of power and a stump-pulling 3,800Nm of torque. Another new face amongst the Volvo Trucks Australia lineup was the FH Aero, a streamlined model designed to cut through the air, reducing drag and saving fuel.

Mack
Mack Trucks Australia marked a monumental milestone at show – celebrating 125 years of manufacturing excellence, ingenuity, heritage and community – with the highly-anticipated unveiling of the new-look Super-Liner. Renowned as Australia’s most powerful conventional truck over the past decade, the new Super-Liner now features a range-topping 780hp 17-litre MP11 engine paired with the latest-generation mDRIVE transmission.

On display at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show was the latest iteration of the remarkable UD Quon, the CG 26 460 8×4 tipper featuring a super clean, yet efficient GH11 powerplant that exceeds Euro 6 emissions. The UD Quon CG 26 460 8×4 tipper on display provided a glimpse of what is available across the UD heavy-duty range.

Western Star & MAN
Penske Australia & New Zealand returned to the Brisbane Truck Show, showcasing the award-winning Western Star X-Series, the highly innovative MAN truck generation, and the cutting-edge Porsche 963 show car, an innovative Le Mans Daytona hybrid racer designed to dominate endurance racing. Winner of the 2024 Truck of the Year Australasia, the Western Star X-Series on show featured superior comfort, an advanced safety package, a powerful integrated driveline and legendary Star durability. For the first time, the MAN TGX Individual Lion S was on display featuring a sporty racing finish, along with a unique design and range of equipment.

Hino
With a theme of ‘driven by innovation, powered by sustainability’, the Hino stand at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show showcased the Japanese manufacturer’s range of current Euro 6 solutions including the 700 Series and 300 Series Hybrid Electric. There was also a nod to the future with Hino displaying its battery-electric 300 Series Z-EV, which is also undergoing a trial program in Australia to determine its range and operational capacity.

IVECO
IVECO used this year’s show to roll out its new Eurocargo model, in its first public display Down Under. One of Europe’s best-selling medium-duty trucks, the new Eurocargo builds on the many benefits of its predecessor, introducing even higher levels of safety, comfort, technology and automation, all wrapped in a strikingly revised cabin. IVECO’s zero-emission capabilities were also on show, with an all-electric eDaily presented to the public; as well as its heavy-duty product line-up, including IVECO’s popular S-Way range.

Hyundai
Hyundai Motor Company Australia debuted the XCIENT fuel cell truck in Australia at the show, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s transition to environmentally friendly heavy transport. In addition, HMCA showcased the enhanced Mighty electric truck, featuring new specifications tailored for urban and regional operations throughout Australia.

DPAC
The 2025 Brisbane Truck Show also ushered in a new truck brand, DPAC, unveiled by the group behind the Foton range of electric trucks, Australian automotive distributor KRW Motor Group. China’s second-largest truck manufacture, DFAC debuted its range of diesel 4.5- and 9.5-tonne light-duty trucks, featuring a Euro 6 Cummins engine paired with Dana axles and Faust six-speed AMT transmissions in the 4.5-tonne vehicle, and an eight-speed Faust AMT in the 9.5-tonne range.
