A new name in commercial vehicle transport has arrived in Australia, with DFAC debuting its innovative range of diesel 4.5- and 9.5-tonne light-duty trucks on the opening day of the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show.
Australian automotive distributor, KRW Motor Group, is the Australian and New Zealand distributor for the DFAC brand, further securing its reach into the Australian truck and bus industry. KRW is the group behind the Foton range of electric trucks, the Foton EV and hydrogen bus distribution business and soon-to-be-released Shacman range of Hydrogen prime movers.
Founded in Shiyan in 1969, and headquartered in Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei since 2003, DFAC ranks as China’s second-largest truck manufacturer and exports to over 56 countries globally.
The Australian DFAC light-duty truck range offering has been tailored to cater to last-mile deliveries, trades and construction companies, local government use and integration into rental companies.
The DFAC offering delivers the latest technology Euro 6 Cummins diesel engine paired with Dana axles and Faust six-speed AMT transmissions in the 4.5-tonne vehicle, and an eight-speed Faust AMT in the 9.5-tonne range.
Launching into dealerships in September 2025, the DFAC range will kick off with the 4.5-tonne range of diesel trucks which can also be upgraded to a six-tonne payload with no changes required to the truck.
The Euro 6 Cummins motor in the 4.5-tonne range has a power output of 121kW and an impressive 400Nm of torque combined with a 120-litre alloy fuel to tank to extend range but with less tare weight.
The 9.5-tonne range will launch in Q4 2025 and will boast a 4.5-litre Cummins Euro 6 engine that has 176kW of power and a massive 850Nm of torque on hand in two wheelbases offerings of 3,800mm and 4,400mm, suitable for most of the popular applications in the Australian market.
All DFAC trucks will meet the latest Australian ADR requirements with lane departure warning, AEBS systems, pedestrian and cyclists detection as standard and meet Cabin Strength Certification (ECE-R29).
“It’s an exciting time to be bringing the DFAC product to Australia, with the brand providing a specification that is much in demand by the local market,” says Neil Wang, KRW Motor Group CEO and founder.
“In Australia, truck buyers are now looking for an alternative to the well-known Japanese products and with DFAC we believe they will find trucks which will meet the requirements of the Australia market.
“We will launch DFAC in 2025 with the diesel range in early 2026 with a range of trucks in both 4.5-tonne and 9.5-tonne variants and we’re excited by the prospect of being able to offer low-emission diesels in latest Euro 6 configuration.”
The DFAC range is backed by a seven-year or 250,000km warranty, while 24/7 roadside and phone support will be provided by NTI Truck Assist.
