It’s Almost Show Time!

The doors are set to open tomorrow on the highly anticipated 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, Australia’s largest business-to-business event and the largest transport industry showcase in the Southern Hemisphere.

Now in its 58th year, the show is expected to draw around 40,000 attendees from all around Australia and overseas to witness more than 35,000 square metres of exhibitors showcasing the latest trucks, trailers, parts and accessories, and technologies – including many being launched for the first time in Australia.

The 2023 show attracted a record 42,855 attendees – including 15,355 from interstate and 2,376 from overseas – and generated 92,982 room nights for the city’s tourism sector and $43.6 million in benefits for the broader Queensland economy.

All up there’s approximately 35,000 square metres of exhibitors showcasing their wares at the 2025 show, led by an impressive 22 truck and engine brands – including Swedish brand Scania which returns to the show after a brief hiatus!

And the big truck brands have a slew of new products on show, including Kenworth’s new Euro 6 range, DAF’s flagship XG and XG+ models, Scania’s revised V8 range and its all-new 13-litre six-cylinder ‘Super’ engine family, Volvo’s just-released FH Aero, Mack’s all-new Super-Liner, the next-generation Freightliner Cascadia, and Isuzu’s entirely new suite of trucks.

After taking the show by storm in 2023, low- and zero-emission vehicles will again feature, with Hyundai debuting the world’s first commercially available hydrogen fuel cell-powered heavy-duty truck, the XCIENT, and DAF presenting its DAF XB Electric currently in Australia for evaluation.

Not to be left behind, 34 world-class trailer and body manufacturers and importers are showcasing their latest innovations at the show, including Hammar Australia, which is debuting its new flagship model, the Hammar 500; Robuk Engineering which has delivered another show-stopping display – a 26-metre PBS-approved jack-knifing A-double combo presented as a ‘Lights on the Hill’ tribute; and The Drake Group which is taking its showing sky high, standing a trailer on its head – literally!

Connecting it all together, a record number of parts and accessories suppliers, and technology providers, are showcasing a raft of product advances that are playing an increasing role in delivering on the Brisbane Truck Show’s key themes of innovation, safety, sustainability and knowledge.

Continuing the show’s evolution into a week-long festival of all things trucking, the event continues to extend beyond the walls of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre into the nearby South Bank Parklands, TAFE Queensland South Bank Campus and right across the city.

With the support of Tourism and Events Queensland, Brisbane City Council and South Bank Corporation, Truck Week 25 features an array of new activations, including the first-ever Silverback Show ‘N’ Shine National Championship at Little Stanley Street featuring 28 of the best custom trucks from around Australia.

In an epic new activation, Truck Week 25 also includes a new careers precinct at the TAFE Queensland South Bank Campus just opposite the main BCEC entrance on Glenelg Street.

Staged in collaboration with TAFE Queensland, The Depot showcases dynamic career opportunities in Australia’s heavy vehicle industry including hands-on and virtual interactive displays such as a truck driving simulator and the uber-cool Scania Dunk Truck boasting a half-size basketball court.

For those who like a bit of rough and tumble, Truck Week 25 also incorporates the Premier Boxing Series at the South Bank Piazza on Friday and Saturday nights.

Following its success in previous years, there’ll also be an abundance of activities and entertainment in the South Bank Parklands, supported by the precinct’s retailers waiting to welcome visitors with a plethora of great drinking and dining options.

Beyond South Bank, Truck Week 25 also incorporates the Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show at the Brisbane Showgrounds from Thursday to Saturday; and the Heritage Truck Show at Rocklea Showgrounds from May 17-18 featuring a breathtaking lineup of classic trucks and machinery on display.

HVIA CEO Todd Hacking says what started back in 1968 as an event to connect members with their customers has become much more than that – a week-long festival of all things trucking.

“Amazingly, it now ranks as Australia’s largest business-to-business event and there are so many other events that run alongside the Truck Show that make it a compelling opportunity for everyone to get together in Brisbane every two years,” he says.

“The Queensland Government have been our major partner in that initiative. Brisbane Economic Development Agency is also key to opening doors and breaking down barriers. And this evolution continues in 2025 with some new exciting additions!”
