The new Truck Week 25 Depot activation, held on the lawns of TAFE Queensland’s South Bank campus, delivered on its promise — and then some — creating an inspiring, engaging and entertaining experience for school students.
While The Depot was primarily designed to showcase more than 30 career pathways into the heavy vehicle industry, it achieved much more.
“It was amazing!” says Bronwyn Edwards from Morayfield State High School. “We had a great day — there was so much on display and so many conversations were had.”

That sentiment was echoed by nearly 50 school groups who visited The Depot before continuing on to the Brisbane Truck Show.
Ann Griffiths from Horizons College in Caboolture described the atmosphere as welcoming and energetic. “Our students thoroughly enjoyed the careers exhibitions — from the hands-on activities and simulators to the stage games and interactive demonstrations. The presenters (including MCs Louise Azzopardi and HVIA’s Michael Rose) did an excellent job of connecting with young people.”
She adds: “It was a fantastic opportunity for them to explore real-world career pathways in a fun and dynamic setting. Students were blown away by the scale of the event and loved getting up close to the trucks, trailers and technology. It really reinforced the excitement and relevance of careers in the industry.”

More than 1,000 students visited The Depot during the first two mornings of the show, and a further 2,500 attendees — including families and Brisbane Truck Show visitors — joined in the fun across the week.
With entertainment from talented TAFE Queensland students, basketball action with Scania, appearances from the Dolphins NRL, Brisbane Bullets and Brisbane Heat, plus an array of interactive exhibits, the activation had a true carnival atmosphere.
Our sincere thanks go to the 20 dedicated exhibitors and their teams, our collaborators from TAFE Queensland, Truck Week 25 partners — the Queensland Government, and Silver Sponsors Royans, Scania and Volvo.
