BTS25 Information Sessions

Aside from all the latest trucks, trailers, parts and accessories on show, 2025 Brisbane Truck Show attendees have the opportunity to attend information sessions to learn about using vehicle-generated data to improve safety, practical steps to improve driver well-being, and how to contribute to 2025’s NTARC Major Incident Investigation Report.

In previous years the industry information sessions run on the Plaza Level of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (room P3, just outside the Plaza Outdoor Terrace) have attracted interest from a broad range of attendees keen to find out about the latest trends and policy developments.

The 2025 show is no different and HVIA is proud to host some interesting sessions from the National Transport Commission (NTC), Austroads, Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds, the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) and National Transport Accident Research Centre (NTARC).

The sessions kick off on Thursday, May 15 at 9:00am-11:00am with NTARC and NRSPP running a session to allow industry members to have direct input to the 2025 Major Incident Investigation Report which will be released in September. If you have some insights on crashes and road safety please come along to share them with NTARC and NRSPP.

This will be followed by two sessions run by the NTC and Transport Certification Australia (TCA), which is a Centre of Excellence within Austroads that will explore how data collected by vehicles can be used to enhance road safety. The first session will be on Thursday, May 15 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and the second on Friday, May 16 for 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

Finally, on Saturday, May 17 TCA will partner with Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds to run a series of sessions focussing on driver well-being between 1:00pm and 3:10pm. These sessions will cover nutrition, recovery from trauma, fitness and rest.

HVIA’s Policy and Legislation Adviser Greg Forbes says, “HVIA is proud to partner with these great organisations and these sessions provide a great opportunity to get a feel for the latest developments in these areas and to network with some of the key movers and shakers. I would encourage anyone with an interest in these areas to attend these sessions.”

Summary of Sessions

Crash Data, In The Voice Of The Industry
Presented By NTARC

The best way to tell a story is with real people, in this case NTARC want to interview the people who keep Australia going – truck drivers. The National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) and NTARC produce a range of material which is only impactful because it includes real people in their story telling. The annual NTARC Major Incident Investigation Report will be released in September and we want to use every day professional drivers to help tell its story. NRSPP produces toolbox talks, socials and campaigns and we need input from drivers to make them impactful.
